Maintaining user data backup is a never-ending crisis for IT staffs everywhere. As the size of local hard drives increases and the amount of business data that resides on those drives grows, scheduled backups of that data is more important than ever. Regular tape backup is even more important for smaller- or hard to reach-office locations that might not have the money or resources to keep data protected. Too often, companies choose not to spend money on the hardware, software, and resources that is necessary to keep business data backed up and protected. Having backup tools onsite for major companies seems like a smart move, but all too many times is it ignored. When a disaster strikes then it is too late.
